NC Pre-K Program
Approximately 300 children in Lee County are enrolled in high-quality North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten (NC Pre-K) programs. The program is free to participants with the goal of helping young children prepare for kindergarten. Under the authority of the NC State Board of Education, NC Pre-K classrooms are located in public schools (54 percent), licensed child care centers (27 percent), and Head Start programs (19 percent). These classrooms provide a full school day, full school year program that meets standards set by the State Board of Education to align with K-12 education and prepare children for academic success. In Lee County NC Pre-K sites include private childcare centers and and one public elementary school strategically located throughout Lee County.

Apply to Become an NC Pre-K Provider in FY2016-17
The Lee County Partnership for Children accepts applications annually from qualified centers interested in becoming a NC Pre-K
